Use em and Lose em: The Hard Left in the Democratic Party is Using Healthcare as a Purge
Democratic House Representative Eric Massa, 2010
Many Democratic commentators on the Networks and Cable are expressing surprise that the White House is intent on forcing through Healthcare despite extremely strong feelings against it nationally.
(listen to Democratic House Representative Eric Massa describe the current situation in the Democratic Party)
More moderate democrats are being pushed hard to vote for the Healthcare bill, despite its painful sanctions against Americans who don't buy the prescribed insurance, and strong pro-abortion language. These adjurations are being combined with assurances that funding and support will be available for their reelection bids in November.
However, sources are indicating that the Pelosi/Obama hard left of the Democratic party is prepared to take the hit this November, in exchange for long-lasting control of the party.
The numbers they are looking at are saying that Republicans will gain control of both the House and Senate in November, but that they will fall short of a supermajority, and thus the President's veto.
A (non-leftist) Democratic friend of mine said to me yesterday "40 years took us from J.F.K to J.F'n.K. Another 10 and we're sweet F.A.". Sorry moderate Democrats. Looks like your party finally left you, just like it did President Reagan.
